With Halloween comes not only the chance to scare your friends with fiendish ghost stories told by candle light on a cold autumn night, but the prospect of some excellent themed parties that’ll be the talk of your friends group for months. And if you really want to make a big impression at the Halloween party this year, it’s a good idea to start planning your costume as quickly as you can.
The more prepared you are, the less chance there’ll be of any last-minute slip ups – so think carefully about exactly what you’ll need and you can be sure of a better Halloween this year than ever before.
Of course, it’s always important to stay on fashion, and this is as true for Halloween as it is any time of year. Naturally, some old favourites never go out of style – like Freddy Krueger costumes, witches and wizards and even their pet black cats.
A couple of old favourites are gracing the cutting edge of Halloween fashion this year, so if you really want to dress to impress, opt for a vampire or werewolf outfit. Thanks to all of the media attention these two mythical creatures are getting, through books and TV series like True Blood and Twilight, there’s never been a better time to embrace your inner bloodsucker or have a howlingly good time by donning a vampire or werewolf costume this Halloween.
One of the great things about vampires is that costumes can be so diverse. Not only are there outfits like the retro, instantly recognisable Dracula style cloak and slicked back hair, but vampires can be adapted into today’s mainstream view where they look completely normal – until they get a taste for blood, that is. By simply adding a set of fangs to your Halloween repertoire, you can wear whatever you like and instantly spice it up quickly and easily – and manage to stay at the very front of Halloween fashion
Werewolves, on the other hand, are best done in style. That means a werewolf suit – which not only wins you plenty of points for effort, but looks fantastic too. And whether people find your fluffy fur terrifying or a little more cute and cuddly, you can rest assured that you’ll be the centre of attention at any party. If a full outfit is a little out of reach, you can go for the teen wolf look and add some werewolf hair to your face and arms whilst wearing normal clothes. This is another instantly recognisable costume, harking back to some of the most popular cult movies like An American Werewolf in London.
No matter what you’re thinking about for your Halloween costumes, by planning in advance you can ensure you’ll avoid any last minute emergencies.
